    UNITED SERVICE CLUB

    HEALTH NOTICE

    Dear Members,

At the United Service Club, the health and safety of our staff, members and guests is our highest priority. COVID-19 continues to affect people around the world and the situation is evolving quickly. The USC is monitoring developments and actioning the latest advice and regulations from authorities as they come to hand.

We are all aware of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and whilst for more than 80% of us who contract the virus, the results will be no more than that of a flu, at the United Service Club, we are particularly concerned about our older members and the ability of the NSW health system’s capacity to deliver to their needs if the spread of the virus moves quickly.

The United Service Club has now had to implement the following measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff, members and guests:

    • All persons who have returned from overseas travel from midnight Monday 16th March 2020, or been in contact with people who have returned from overseas travel are required by the government to self-isolate for a period of 14 days and as a result will not be permitted to enter the Club.

    • All persons whose place of employment, education or socialisation , that has been closed due to a confirmed case of COVID-19 are not to enter the Club.

    • All persons who experience or show signs of flu like symptoms are not to enter the Club. These symptoms may include fever, cough, sore throat, tiredness and shortness of breath.

    • Persons who are onsite and showing flu like symptoms will be asked to leave the premises immediately.

    • We encourage all persons who are experiencing flu like symptoms to follow the advice of NSW Health. For more information on COVID-19 visit (www.health.nsw.gov.au/coronavirus).
      • We have increased signage within the venue to inform our members and guests of good hygiene practices.
    • While it hurts us to do, our staff will be discouraged from engaging in personal contact, such as the shaking of hands with members and guests. Please do not take this in any other way than as a preventative and control measure to help prevent the spread of virus. We ask that members & guests practice social distancing as best they can.

    • However, we also know the importance of social inclusion and engagement to all ages and as such will continue to operate our normal business hours. We know that loneliness can have far reaching health issues itself, so we encourage you to have a drink with a mate or a chat with an elderly neighbour. It’s a time for us to pull together sensibly and support each other to cease those causing unnecessary panic.

    • The United Service Club encourages all members and guests to stay up to date via our Facebook page and website as Management are reviewing the situation daily.

A national 24/7 hotline is available to help people with respiratory symptoms and those who are concerned about contact with a possible COVID-19 case, please contact the Central Patient COVID-19 Triage Hotline on 1800 020 080.
